Collision between van and dump truck breaks 3 electric poles, driver in critical condition

The traffic accident occurred at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (May 16) on National Highway 1A (Km 398 +350) in the border area of Quynh Van and Quynh Thach communes, Quynh Luu district.
Many people who witnessed the incident said: At the above time, the van with license plate 37B - 016.02 was traveling from Hanoi to Vinh with about 40 passengers on board.
When approaching the location near Quynh Van market (old), a dump truck carrying soil with license plate 37C - 284.03 from behind swerved up and turned left onto the road. The van was going fast, hit the truck, and together they broke a high-voltage electric pole on the side of the road and fell into a ditch next to the pole.

The accident caused the main driver of the van to break his leg and arm and was taken to the emergency room, while the co-driver suffered minor injuries. Luckily, no passengers on the van were injured. At the scene, the front of both vehicles were crushed, and three electric poles on the side of the road were broken in half.
