According to the investigation, on the evening of November 2, the subjects and a group of cargo handlers at Giap Bat station drank alcohol at Tai's motel on Giap Nhi street, then went to drink at a coffee shop on Giai Phong street.
Here, because of being drunk, Vuong and his friends had a conflict with another group, but were stopped and taken back to the motel. When passing Giap Nhi street, Vuong continued to argue with the other group. Being chased and beaten, Vuong returned to the motel to discuss with Tai and Hai about taking a knife to come back for revenge.
At around 10:35 p.m. the same day, in front of 924 Truong Dinh, the three subjects could not find their "opponents" so they rushed in and slashed two men who were sitting drinking beer in front of the door. As a result, Mr. P (born in 1958, residing in Hoang Mai) was slashed many times, seriously injured and was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. The subjects then returned to the motel to hide their weapons.
