“The Newspaper Cup is what brought me to Song Lam Nghe An club; it allowed me to live my passion to the fullest. My family is all in agriculture, so when I was accepted to Song Lam, my parents supported me and saw this as an opportunity for their child to develop his future” - Trong Tuan shared.

Studying at the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center, Tuan was coached by coach Phan Nhu Thuat. Also in this first year, as the main striker, Tuan and the U11 Song Lam Nghe An won the National U11 Championship.

However, the turning point came to Tuan when he participated in the National U13 Tournament in 2019. The player born in 2006 was moved to play as an attacking midfielder by coach Phan Nhu Thuat. "At first, I was quite surprised by this decision because my scoring ability was quite good, but now I feel that it is right and helps me develop further on my professional football path" - Tuan shared.

In his new role, Trong Tuan has demonstrated his technical qualities, as well as his thinking in passing the ball to his teammates. This has contributed to bringing U13 Song Lam Nghe An to the 2019 National U13 Championship.

His excellence during his time playing for the Song Lam Nghe An youth team helped Tuan join the Vietnam U16 team. In the group stage of the 2022 Southeast Asian U16 Championship, Tuan made his debut when Vietnam U16 faced host Indonesia U16 and left his mark with a pass to Long Vu, forcing the opposing team to commit a foul in the penalty area.

However, it was not until the match against Thailand that Tuan left a strong impression, when he scored the winning goal to secure a 2-0 victory over the region's top opponent. At the end of the U16 Southeast Asian tournament, U16 Vietnam won the runner-up position, after losing to host U16 Indonesia in the final match.

Trong Tuan shared: “Being able to join the team and compete in international tournaments helps me grow up. Through this tournament, I have learned more experience. I hope I will soon grow up and contribute more to the Song Lam Nghe An youth team, as well as the Vietnam youth team.”

With the achievements gained, it will be the fulcrum for the captain of U17 Song Lam Nghe An to aim for future successes.
