Mobilizing nearly 7 billion VND to build a fund to support people with disabilities and orphans
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the result reported at the conference to evaluate the results of the Action Month for PWDs and TMCs organized by the Association for the Protection of PWDs and TMCs of Nghe An on the morning of May 24.
During the Action Month for PWDs and TMCs (May) and the results of the first 5 months of 2019, the Provincial Association for the Support of PWDs and TMCs mobilized to build a support fund of nearly 7 billion VND; donated 500 free wheelchairs and bicycles to the beneficiaries; coordinated with the health sector and districts and communes to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine to more than 10,000 people, the value of the medicine provided was over 2.5 billion VND.
In addition, the association also supported over 400 million VND to help families repair houses, and 200 million VND to buy buffaloes and cows to support livestock development.
In addition, successfully organized the 2019 Meeting with PWDs and TMCs, sponsors and typical grassroots associations; won the first prize for the entire group at the Singing Contest for People with Disabilities - Central Highlands Region.
