During the survey, after visiting several VNEN-based classrooms at two schools, the working group requested that officials, teachers, local authorities, and parent representatives provide honest and comprehensive feedback on the teaching and learning situation, as well as suggestions and proposals for applying the new VNEN teaching model in the area.
According to Mr. Trinh Huu Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Tan Ky District People's Committee, as well as the opinions of officials, teachers, and parent representatives from the two schools, the application of the VNEN teaching model in the district has certain advantages such as: helping students become more dynamic, creative, confident, and proactive in their learning, thus adapting more quickly to new things. The VNEN teaching method also helps teachers develop their management skills more effectively.

However, the application of this model in the area has also revealed some limitations: For social science subjects, especially Literature, students are limited in developing their emotions and writing skills; weak students easily fall behind and struggle to keep up with good and excellent students in group activities; in the current examination system, students studying under the VNEN program find it difficult to keep up with the knowledge level compared to students in the traditional program.
Another drawback that has been highlighted is that teaching and learning according to textbooks in the VNEN program is somewhat rigid, thus limiting opportunities for exploration, expansion, and enhancement of knowledge and understanding beyond the lesson.
Some teachers argue that the VNEN model should not be expanded, and instead, focus should be placed on applying its advantages.

Mr. Tran Van Tung, representing the parents of students at Nghia Binh Primary School, expressed: Learning under the VNEN model has the advantage of making students independent, confident in their communication style, group activities, and independent opinions. However, to teach and learn effectively, it is necessary to ensure adequate facilities, a team of highly qualified teachers, and a reasonable teacher transfer process. |
In the surveyed schools, the majority of facilities do not meet the requirements for teaching according to the VNEN model; in classes with a large number of students, applying group learning methods is very time-consuming due to the need to move and arrange desks and chairs, thus limiting the transfer of knowledge.
Furthermore, the issue of allocating funds for schools to implement the VNEN model faces difficulties, as the pilot project is scheduled to end in 2017. There are also many conflicting opinions and disagreements regarding how to classify and arrange student groups in group activities to ensure all students learn effectively.
Therefore, according to Mr. Trinh Huu Thanh, the VNEN new teaching model is not yet truly suitable for application in the area.

In discussions with the survey team, Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, Principal of Nghia Binh Primary School, expressed his opinion that positive elements should be applied, exploited flexibly, and that if teachers are proactive, this model can still be applied; the entire VNEN teaching method should not be implemented.
Therefore, the curriculum framework needs adjustment, and the organizational aspects need to be flexible, rather than mechanically applying the VNEN method entirely. Textbooks also need adjustment as they are not yet suitable or convenient for the teaching and learning process of teachers and students.
From the parents' perspective, some expressed concerns about the examination process and the way their children's academic results are assessed under the new VNEN teaching model.
At the end of the survey, Comrade Ho Phuc Hop acknowledged the feedback from the grassroots level and promised to compile it for submission to the competent authorities, preparing it for the review at the third session of the 17th Provincial People's Council.
