Hanoi Club President Nguyen Quoc Hoi confirmed: “Van Quyet has contributed a lot to the club and the national team. Quyet's wish is to play abroad for a season. We have plans for Quyet to go to Thailand or Malaysia. But Van Quyet wants Malaysia more. We respect Van Quyet's decision, but up to this point, nothing has been decided yet.”

Previously, there were many rumors surrounding the future of the Vietnamese team captain. The player born in 1991 was once linked with Buriram United (Thailand), but later, the Thai team recruited Hoang Vu Samson.

Currently, Kedah FA (Malaysia) is the name that shows the most enthusiasm in this deal. The Malaysian giant has also successfully recruited center back Alvaro Silva - Van Quyet's teammate at Hanoi FC last season.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand and Malaysia are currently the two most attractive destinations. The Thai championship is considered the most professional, but Malaysia has a higher-income league. Thai players have an average monthly salary of 3,000 to 5,000 USD. The same figure in Malaysia is 6,000 to 10,000 USD (more than 220 million VND).

Before Van Quyet, another big star of Southeast Asia, Chan Vathanaka (Cambodia), has just joined Pahang (Malaysia).

Kedah FA itself has always been among the strongest clubs in Malaysia. This team has a history of nearly 100 years, owns a stadium with more than 32,000 seats. They have won the Malaysian championship 3 times and are currently the defending champions of the Malaysian FA Cup.

Hanoi FC said the deal will be decided in the next few days. Van Quyet will most likely play for Kedah FA on loan for one season before returning to Vietnam.
