Gold suddenly increased shockingly
SJC gold is stable at 90 million VND/tael, while world gold suddenly increased shockingly, surpassing the 2,400 USD/ounce mark.

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 87.40 million VND/tael for buying and 89.50 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 88.40 - 89.80 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 87.45 - 89.50 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,414.50 USD/ounce. Today's gold price is 37 USD/ounce higher than yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 73.159 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 14.341 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Japanese Yen exchange rate falls again after strong increase
Japanese Yen Exchange RateToday, May 18, surveyed at banks, specifically as follows:
At Vietcombank,Vietcombank Japanese Yen exchange rate has buying rate of 158.48 VND/JPY and selling rate of 167.74 VND/JPY, down 1.72 VND on buying and down 1.81 VND on selling.

Vietinbank, Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.28 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 159.35 VND/JPY and 169.05 VND/JPY.
At BIDV Bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 1.18 VND in buying and 1.96 VND in selling, reaching 158.73 VND/JPY and 166.39 VND/JPY, respectively.
Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 159.51 VND/JPY and 167.51 VND/JPY - down 1.69 VND for buying and down 1.84 VND for selling.
At Eximbank, the buying price decreased by 1.27 VND and the selling price decreased by 1.32 VND, respectively at 160.29 VND/JPY and 165.67 VND/JPY.
Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 1.25 VND in buying and decreased by 1.27 VND in selling with the prices of 156.54 VND/JPY and 168.94 VND/JPY respectively.
At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 2.09 VND in buying and 2.05 VND in selling, corresponding to 161.21 VND/JPY and 166.26 VND/JPY.
Surveyed in the black market, the Japanese Yen/VND exchange rate increased by 0.03 VND in the buying direction and increased by 0.23 VND in the selling direction, respectively traded at 165.34 VND/JPY in the buying direction and 166.54 VND/JPY in the selling direction.
Gasoline prices continue to increase at the end of the week
On May 17, oil prices continued to rise. Brent oil prices headed towards $84/barrel, while WTI oil prices exceeded $79/barrel.
According to data from Oilprice, at 9:07 p.m. on May 17 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price was listed at 83.56 USD/barrel, up 0.35% compared to the previous session. WTI oil price was at 79.57 USD/barrel, up 0.43% compared to the previous session.

Oil prices rose as economic data from top consumers China and the United States raised hopes of rising demand.
China's industrial output rose 6.7% in April from a year earlier. It also rose 4.5% in March, suggesting stronger fuel demand in China.
Domestic coffee prices rise again
Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:20 a.m. on May 18 and increased again by 900 - 1,100 VND/kg. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 102,300 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 102,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 101,900 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at 102,500 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 101,300 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, coffee is purchased at around 102,300 VND to 102,400 VND/kg.
