Gold reverses shocking decline

SJC gold dropped by nearly 1 million VND/tael in both buying and selling prices, while world gold also reversed and decreased slightly right after setting a new record.

Today's 9999 gold price is listed by DOJI at 78.50 million VND/tael for buying and 80.50 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 79.00 - 80.30 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by businesses at 78.40 - 80.40 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,181.135 USD/ounce, down 5,235 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 64.413 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 14.387 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

World USD turns to increase sharply

USD exchange rateToday (March 22), VCB USD continued to be at parity, while the world USD turned around and increased sharply, officially reaching 104 points.

The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 23,999 VND/USD, maintaining an increase of 7 VND compared to the trading session on March 21.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for transactions by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,141 VND/USD.

Today's USD exchange rate on the world market increased 0.18% compared to the transaction on March 21.

The dollar rose sharply in today's trading session, after the Swiss National Bank's surprise interest rate cut reinforced global risk sentiment and highlighted the greenback's appeal amid strong US economic growth.

The pound slipped after the Bank of England (BoE) kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged as expected. But risk assets around the world jumped after the US Federal Reserve projected a less restrictive policy stance than expected on Wednesday, as did the prospect of capital inflows into the US.

Prices of gasoline and oil continue to decline

According to data from Oilprice, at 9:02 p.m. on March 21 (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil was trading at $85.77 per barrel, down $0.18, or 0.21%, from the previous session. WTI crude oil was at $81.08 per barrel, down $0.19, or 0.23%, from the previous session.

According to analysts, oil prices continue to decline as the US Federal Reserve (Fed) decided to keep interest rates stable.

Although the Fed decided to keep interest rates unchanged, it still signaled plans to cut interest rates three times this year.

However, the decline has slowed somewhat thanks to rising demand and signs of tightening supply.

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has just released a report showing that the country's crude oil reserves have decreased for the second consecutive week.

US commercial crude inventories unexpectedly fell by 2 million barrels to 445 million barrels in the week ended March 15, contrary to analysts' expectations for a 13,000-barrel increase in a Reuters poll and a much larger decline than the 1.5 million-barrel decline previously reported by the American Petroleum Institute (API).

Domestic coffee prices remain high

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 5:24 a.m. on March 22. Despite the decrease, they remain stable and are at a very high level. Currently, the average purchase price in the Central Highlands provinces is 94,000 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 94,100 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high, at 94,000 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 94,100 VND/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 93,600 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak province, it is purchased at about 93,900 to 94,000 VND/kg./.
