On the morning of March 28, the People's Court of Nghe An province held a first-instance trial of the case of Nguyen Viet Dung (aka "Dung phi ho", born in 1986, residing in Hau Thanh commune, Yen Thanh, Nghe An) for the crime of "Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam".
However, at the trial, the defense attorneys for the defendant Dung were absent without reason. The defendant Dung asked the panel of judges to postpone the trial.
After the panel of judges deliberated, in order to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the defendant, the presiding judge read the decision to postpone the trial and transfer the first instance trial to April 12, 2018.

Previously, according to investigative documents, in 2015, Nguyen Viet Dung was prosecuted for disturbing public order and sentenced to 15 months in prison. After being released from prison, Dung did not repent or work hard, but deliberately went online, colluding with reactionary elements to write articles, take photos to propagate, distort the truth, sabotage the country, and destroy the peaceful lives of the people.
With illegal activities and behaviors, on September 27, 2017, the Investigation Security Agency of Nghe An Provincial Police executed an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Viet Dung, for the act of "Propaganda against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" as prescribed in Article 88 - Penal Code.
