Gold price increased slightly
Domestic gold closed the week before the God of Wealth's day with a slight increase of 200,000 VND/tael in selling price, while world gold recorded its second week of decline.

Today's 9999 gold price is listed by DOJI at 76.05 million VND/tael for buying and 78.55 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, the listed price of SJC gold is 76.80 - 77.80 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 76.15 - 78.15 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 76.05 - 78.82 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,013.230 USD/ounce, up 0.46%. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 58.802 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees).
Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank, said he is bullish on gold in the long term. The Fed’s rate cut stance and path may be clearer, giving investors a better idea of where gold is headed.
Meanwhile, physical gold demand in Asia continued to increase, supporting gold prices to remain stable.
Mr. Everett Millman, an analyst at Gainesville Coins, commented that gold prices may have difficulty increasing strongly above the threshold of 2,000 USD/ounce.
USD prices increased across the week
USD exchange rateToday, February 18, 2024, extending the upward trend; in the world market, USD closed the week up slightly, recording a weekly increase of 0.6%.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 23,971 VND/USD, an increase of 15 VND compared to the trading session on February 16.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for transactions by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,119 VND/USD.
This morning, the bank USD exchange rate, foreign exchange rate and domestic USD price recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks.
In global markets, the dollar index recovered to near 104.3 and was set for a 0.6% weekly gain, as investors continued to assess the outlook for US economic and monetary policy.
Coffee prices increase sharply, over 80,000 VND/kg

Currently, the average price is 80,100 VND/kg in the Central Highlands provinces, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 80,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high at 80,100 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 80,600 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 79,500 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province today, in Cu M'gar district, coffee was purchased at 80,200 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district and Buon Ho town, it was purchased at the same price of 80,300 VND/kg.
