Global gold prices fell sharply, the biggest drop in seven weeks.
Domestic gold prices fell over the weekend. Compared to the end of June 7th, gold decreased by 120,000 VND/ounce, and compared to the closing price of the previous weekend, gold lost approximately 230,000 VND/ounce.
Doji Gold and Gemstone Group (Hanoi) listed the buying and selling prices of SJC gold at 40.65 - 40.77 million VND/ounce. Saigon Gold and Gemstone Company announced the buying price of SJC gold in Ho Chi Minh City at 40.57 million VND/ounce and the selling price at 40.77 million VND/ounce.

Globally, international gold experienced an unsuccessful trading session, experiencing its sharpest decline in seven weeks. Closing the trading session on the night of June 7th in New York (USA), August gold futures lost 2.3% to $1,383/ounce – the steepest drop since April 15th. Spot gold on the Kitco chart (Canada) closed at $1,384.6/ounce.
The US dollar rose against the euro over the weekend, bringing the EUR/USD exchange rate to 1.3218 after the US reported weaker-than-expected employment figures.
Specifically, in May, the US added 175,000 jobs, compared to a forecast of 163,000; however, the unemployment rate in the same month rose from 7.5% to 7.6%.
