At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on December 17, on the trading floors of some companies as follows: DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 73.20 million VND/tael for buying and 74.40 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey listed the price of SJC gold at 73.40 - 74.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 73.45 - 74.35 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 73.35 - 74.40 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

On the world market, according to Kitco, at 5:00 a.m. today (Vietnam time), spot gold was recorded at 2,019,540. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, world gold is priced at about 58,332 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 15,018 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

Gold ended the week at $2,019.54 an ounce. While there is plenty of potential in the market, analysts noted that the precious metal still has some work to do as it recovers from its recent peak after hitting an all-time high. Analysts noted that gold’s fortunes have improved heading into the final trading week of 2023.

Coffee price anchored high at 67,000 VND/kg

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces on December 17 was quite high at 66,900 VND/kg; In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, coffee was purchased at the highest price of 67,000 VND/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha is purchased at 66,300 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak province today, coffee prices are the highest; in Cu M'gar district, it is purchased at 66,900 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 67,000 VND/kg.

Pig price has not exceeded 50,000 VND/kg

In the Northern region, live pig prices continued to move sideways across a wide area and fluctuated between 49,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs today is quiet and fluctuates between 47,000 - 49,000 VND/kg.

In the Southern region, the price of live pigs did not record any fluctuations compared to the previous day and fluctuated between 47,000 - 51,000 VND/kg.

In general, last week (December 11-17), the price of live pigs fluctuated up and down. After a slight increase at the beginning of the week, the price of live pigs turned down again at the end of the week. Notably, in the Southern region, the downward trend occurred throughout the past week.

Recorded on the weekend of December 17, the average price of live pigs in the Northern region stood at 50,840 VND/kg; in the Central Highlands region stood at 48,500 VND/kg; in the Southern region stood at 49,050 VND/kg. Thus, the average price of live pigs in the regions is still hovering around 50,000 VND/kg.

Unlike previous years, the price of live pigs and pork this year has been low for a long time and has not been able to rebound at the end of the year. According to traders, the reason is that purchasing power in the market is currently quite weak. This year, many workers are unemployed, so the shopping trend at the end of the year is very low. In addition, the supply of pork on the market is currently very abundant.
