Tottenham's young star has been handed a three-match European ban for a violent foul.

Alli committed the foul in Tottenham's 2-2 draw with Gent on February 23, in the second leg of the Europa League round of 32. The situation stemmed from a loss of possession and the 20-year-old star reacted by kicking Dejaegere's knee.

Alli received a straight red card after the foul. Not stopping there, on March 24, the European Football Federation (UEFA) Disciplinary Committee decided to impose an additional three-match suspension.

The suspension means Alli will miss the first three Champions League games of next season if Tottenham are allowed to participate. The "Roosters" are now more likely to qualify for the Champions League when they areranked second in the Premier League.

After Alli was sent off, Tottenham had to accept a 2-3 defeat against Gent. England now has only one representative in the Europa League quarter-finals: Man Utd.

Gent also exited the tournament after losing to fellow Belgian side Genk in the round of 16. Belgium now have another representative in the quarter-finals in Anderlecht.
