On March 9, District 1 Police, Ho Chi Minh City, are detaining Loi Phoi Phat (35 years old, residing in District 3) to investigate the act of "theft of property".
According to the case file, Phat was a driver for a company on Nguyen Van Thu Street, Da Kao Ward, District 1. At noon on March 7, Phat went to the room of the company's Board of Directors to sleep and saw that no one was inside, the desk cabinet door was unlocked, so he opened it out of curiosity. There, Phat discovered a lot of foreign currency and gold in the cabinet (worth nearly 400 million VND), so he got greedy and took it.
Early in the afternoon, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company entered the room and saw that the above assets were missing, so he reported it to the police. Through checking the camera, the Da Kao Ward Police discovered that the perpetrator of the theft was Phat, so they investigated and arrested Phat. Phat confessed to all his actions and said that he had spent all the stolen assets.
