Go into the forest to hunt animals and sell drugs.
(Baonghean.vn) - Kha Van Bun confessed that while hunting in the forest, he met a strange man. Seeing that this man was selling cheap drugs, the defendant decided to buy them.
On October 26, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a trial for defendant Kha Van Bun (born 1963), residing in Pha Danh commune, Ky Son district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking”.
This is the second time Bun has appeared in court. Previously, in 2019, this defendant was sentenced to 12 months in prison for "Illegal possession of narcotics".
Regarding the case, according to the indictment, on June 5, Kha Van Bun went hunting in the area bordering Laos and met a man (unknown origin).

During the conversation, Bun bought 3 packages of heroin from this person for 4.5 million VND. The purpose of this person was to buy it for both personal use and to sell for profit.
At noon on June 7, when Bun was at home, the police came to work, so this subject voluntarily handed over the drugs. The police made a record of the crime, the evidence of the case was more than 50 grams of drugs.
At the trial, defendant Bun did not admit to buying drugs for sale. He stated that he only bought drugs for use because he was addicted. Explaining why he bought a large amount of drugs for use only, he stated that it was because “drugs were cheap”.
Because the defendant did not admit to the crime, the panel of judges played a video recording of the police questioning the defendant. During the interrogations with the participation of lawyers and witnesses, Kha Van Bun confessed to buying drugs for his own use and selling them to anyone in need.
Based on the above grounds and related documents, the panel of judges determined that there was sufficient basis to affirm that defendant Kha Van Bun had illegally traded in drugs as charged in the indictment.
Considering that in this case the defendant denied the crime, he was not entitled to any mitigating circumstances, therefore, the court sentenced Kha Van Bun to 16 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
