In the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, Djokovic sets a record for prize money
The world number one took three hours and 16 minutes to beat Roberto Bautista Agut 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, 7-5 in a match interrupted by rain.
The fourth round match was supposed to end on May 30 but was postponed for two days due to rain. Yesterday, the two players took to the court but the referee finally announced the postponement to today when the score in the third set was 4-1 in favor of Novak Djokovic.
The Serbian immediately broke his opponent's serve when play resumed today and won the next game to lead 2-1. Djokovic lost focus at the beginning of the fourth set, trailing Agut 2-4. However, he quickly regained control with continuous net play and some tricky drop shots. The number one seed broke in games seven and 11 to win the match.
