Vietnam's No. 1 female badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh officially won a ticket to the 2024 Olympics

Female badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh has just become the 7th athlete of Vietnamese sports to officially win a ticket to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Nguyen Thuy Linh - Vietnam's No. 1 female tennis player announced the good news on Facebook: "Hello everyone, for those who love, support and follow me throughout my journey, especially the 1 year of accumulating points to reach the 2024 Paris Olympics. Today, I would like to officially announce that I have qualified to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics."

Nguyen Thuy Linh finished the Olympic qualifying round with 48,350 points, ranked 17/35, in group 2 in the draw results at the Paris Olympics.

Vietnam's No. 1 female tennis player also participated in the Olympics for the second consecutive time, after her achievements at Tokyo 2020.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, although she could not advance to the next round, Thuy Linh created a new milestone for Vietnamese badminton when she had 2 wins in the group stage of the women's singles.

Legend Romario returns at age 58

On the afternoon of April 17, ESPN reported that the legendary Romario returned at the age of 58. He plays for America Football Club, a team that competes in Campeonato Carioca - a playground in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

It is unclear when Romario will be able to put on his boots. The 1994 World Cup winner also said he will not appear in any League matches, but confirmed that he wants to play alongside his son Romarinho, the new player the club has just signed.

Sharing on Instagram, Romario said: "I will not compete in the League format, but I want to play a few matches with my dream club, and more importantly, make my dream come true, which is to play alongside my son. What do you think?".

Romario played his last official match in November 2009 for America FC, the beloved team of Romario's father, Edevair. The Brazilian football legend then worked at the club as its president. Five years later, Romario was elected as a senator for Rio de Janeiro.

According to football expert Fabrizio Romano, the new Ineos boss team is ready to increase Mainoo's salary to make him a symbol in Sir Jim Ratcliffe's MU development project.

Romano tweeted: "MU are stepping up contract extension negotiations with Kobbie Mainoo. They started in February and hope to complete everything this summer. Ineos wants to make Mainoo the face of the new project at the club. The deal will include a salary increase and additional benefits."

Kobbie Mainoo currently earns £20,000 a week, a figure that will triple to £60,000 a week when he signs a new contract at Old Trafford./.
