Nghe An athlete won Silver medal at Asian Youth Taekwondo Championship
(Baonghean.vn) - At the 2nd Asian Youth Taekwondo Championship in 2017, the Vietnamese delegation had 29 athletes, of which Nghe An High Performance Athletes Training Center had 2 students called up to the national team, including Nguyen Thi Lam Oanh and Dang Khanh Nhi.
These are two athletes born in 2003 but have had very good results in youth tournaments. While Dang Khanh Nhi won the silver medal at the 2016 national youth tournament, Nguyen Thi Lam Oanh brought home the gold medal for Nghe An sports at this tournament.

At the 2017 Asian Junior Taekwondo Championship, with clear victories over opponents, including a clear victory with a score of 20-8 (against India).
Entering the final round, Dang Khanh Nhi was highly appreciated by experts. However, due to her opponent's superior physique and physical strength, as well as her flexible movements, despite her many attacks, she was not very effective and had to accept the silver medal.

After this tournament, Nguyen Thi Lam Oanh and Dang Khanh Nhi continued to be selected as representatives of Vietnam to participate in the 3rd World Youth Taekwondo Championship held in Harm El-Sheikh, Egypt in August 2017.
Coach Dang Dinh Hung commented: "If given proper investment, Lam Oanh and Khanh Nhi will go very far and can be considered a "gold mine" not only for Nghe An sports but also for Vietnamese sports."
Overall results: Iran won first prize with 12 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 3 bronze medals; Vietnam Taekwondo team won 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals and two bronze medals. |
