(Baonghean) - Pham Phuoc Hung - the "golden" boy of Vietnamese gymnastics, was born on June 16, 1988 in Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province. Hung's father is Mr. Pham Van Loi, his mother is Mrs. Ngo Thi Van Hong. Hung's paternal hometown is Phu Tho, his maternal hometown is Vinh City, Nghe An.

Currently, Hung owns 80 medals of all kinds in domestic and international gymnastics, including 34 gold medals, 27 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals. Hung won gold medals at the 23rd, 24th, and 26th SEA Games and was ranked seventh at the World Gymnastics Championship.

Earlier this year, Pham Phuoc Hung competed brilliantly to win a ticket to the 2012 Olympics. To achieve this result, Hung had to go through an extremely difficult training process, which at times seemed impossible to overcome. In the first grade at Hoang Dieu Primary School (Hanoi), Hung was selected and left his parents and family to train in China from then on.

10 years later, returning home, Hung participated in the national sports competition and won a Gold Medal. At the 23rd SEA Games, Hung won a Gold Medal. After the 23rd SEA Games, Hung had a spinal pain, went to the doctor, and the doctor discovered that Hung had tuberculosis of the bone. After a period of treatment and active training, Hung's health recovered and returned to normal. From then on, Hung continued to participate in the 24th and 26th SEA Games, and won Gold Medals in both. After that, Hung participated in the World Gymnastics qualifying round to compete in the 2012 Olympics. As a result, Hung was ranked 43/98 participating athletes, and was one of 5 Vietnamese athletes participating in the 2012 Olympics.

Following Hung's example, Hung's younger brother Pham Phuoc Hieu also caught the eye of a Chinese expert when he entered first grade and is currently studying in China - where his brother previously spent more than 10 years studying. According to the Chinese expert, Hieu has more potential than Hung. Another valuable thing is that both brothers speak Chinese quite fluently.

The hometown of Vinh wishes the two brothers Phuoc Hung and Phuoc Hieu success, contributing to bringing glory to the Fatherland in the 2012 Olympics.
