Black market tickets for Thailand - Vietnam match up to nearly 10 million VND per pair
(Baonghean.vn) - The match between Thailand and Vietnam in the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup is receiving special attention from fans. Accordingly, the black market ticket prices for this match have also increased dramatically.
The match between Thailand and Vietnam took place at Thammasat Stadium with a capacity of only 25,000 seats. Previously on August 11, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) opened an online ticket sale but all the tickets were sold out in just 15 minutes.
Since September 2, a large number of Vietnamese fans have begun to travel to Bangkok either spontaneously or on tour. However, this has made tickets to Thammasat Stadium more scarce than ever.
Ticket prices to watch the match are 650 baht/ticket (equivalent to 488,000 VND) for Vietnamese fans. Meanwhile, ticket prices for Thai fans are lower, at 200, 350, 500 baht (equivalent to 150,000, 266,000, 380,000 VND).

VFF said that the match organizers sold 1,700 out of 25,000 tickets for the match to Vietnamese fans. Of these, VFF bought 300 tickets for 3 Vietnamese tours of travel companies to Thailand to watch the match. The remaining tickets were distributed directly by the match organizers.
According to the investigation of Nghe An Newspaper reporters, tickets to Thammasat Stadium have been sold by many Vietnamese ticket groups on social networks for up to more than 5,200 baht (about 4 million VND, which is 8 times higher than the original ticket price. This is only the initial price because the demand of Vietnamese fans in Bangkok is very high.
For Thai fans, it is different. Many people accept missing out on cheering live on the "big match" between the home team and Vietnam because the number of tickets is too small and the black market ticket prices are not low.
On September 5, the match between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at Thammasat University - the home ground of Bangkok United in the Thai League. The winner of this match will have a big advantage in the fierce battle in Group G, where there are still 3 formidable teams: UAE, Malaysia and Indonesia./.
