Black market tickets for Vietnam vs Philippines match drop sharply after 11 ticket brokers arrested
Black market tickets for the second leg of the AFF Cup 2018 semi-final between Vietnam and the Philippines at My Dinh Stadium are showing signs of decreasing in price, after Nam Tu Liem District Police arrested 11 ticket brokers.
Vietnam national football team won 2-1 against the Philippines in the first leg of the AFF Cup 2018 semi-final. At 7:30 pm tonight, December 6, coach Park Hang Seo and his team will welcome the Philippines at My Dinh Stadium, in the second leg of the semi-final.
A few days ago, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) completed the process of returning tickets to fans who successfully purchased them online. This means that many fans are forced to turn to the “black market” if they want to have the opportunity to watch the Vietnam national football team live in the second leg of the semi-final at My Dinh Stadium.
However, black market tickets are showing signs of decreasing in price as the match nears, especially after Nam Tu Liem District Police arrested 11 ticket touts yesterday, December 5.

According to the reporter's records, tickets with an original face value of 500,000 VND are fluctuating at 5-6 million VND/pair on the "black market" - a decrease of 1 million VND/pair compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, tickets for stands A & B (original face value of 400,000 VND) are priced at 4 million VND/pair, tickets with an original face value of 300,000 VND are being sold for 3 million VND/pair, tickets for stands C & D (original face value of 200,000 VND) have also dropped to 2 million VND/pair.
Last night, December 5, Nam Tu Liem District Police arrested 11 ticket touts in front of My Dinh Stadium, including a security guard at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, Ngoc Trung.
Currently, Nam Tu Liem District Police are still detaining these 11 people to further investigate the origin of the tickets. The total number of tickets collected is up to 100.
Regarding this incident, Director of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center - Truong Hai Tung said: "Mr. Ngoc Trung simply thought that he saw the price difference and had no need, so he sold it to make a profit. However, this has seriously affected the image of the Center in particular and VFF in general."
"Our point of view is to strictly handle these violations. For now, we request that Mr. Ngoc Trung seriously review himself. As soon as possible, we will meet to discuss specific disciplinary action against this security guard."
