Yok Don National Park
Yok Don National Park in the Central Highlands was established to preserve dipterocarp forests, a type of deciduous forest in the dry season. In dipterocarp forests, the dominant species are broad-leaved dipterocarpaceae such as: Sophora japonica, Dipterocarpus acutangula, Lagerstroemia japonica, etc.
When the leaves fall heavily, the sparse forest becomes bare, but just a cool rain is enough to make the new green shoots spring up again, bringing life back to the forest.
