Passenger train tickets with incorrect information can be returned free of charge.

On January 24th, the Vietnam Railways Corporation announced that during the implementation of electronic ticket sales for passengers traveling by train during the Lunar New Year (Year of the Goat), errors in ticket purchasing by many passengers resulted in discrepancies in personal information printed on tickets (incorrect name, ID number, etc.), leading to passengers being denied boarding and not receiving refunds.

To partially address the aforementioned shortcomings of passengers, Vietnam Railways Corporation allows the return of tickets with incorrect personal information during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Goat, with specific timeframes and fees as follows: From 8:00 AM on January 27th to 8:00 PM on February 4th, 2015, passengers with personal information that differs from the information printed on their tickets can return them at stations selling electronic tickets with a 0% deduction. For tickets with incorrect information returned outside of the above-mentioned period, the current regulations on ticket refund deductions will apply.
