20% discount on Tet holiday bus tickets for students from Central Vietnam.
The Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center is currently offering a subsidized bus ticket program for disadvantaged students traveling to provinces from Binh Dinh to Thanh Hoa, with a 20% discount.
The program will run until January 10, 2014, with the number of tickets available depending on student demand. Students must register to purchase tickets through the Student Union, Student Association, or the student affairs office of their school. The school will then compile the applications and purchase tickets on behalf of the students at the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center. Students must provide a certificate from their local authorities confirming their family's financial hardship.

In addition to this discounted bus ticket program, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center is implementing the "Spring Journey" program, giving away 2,000 Tet holiday bus tickets to underprivileged students returning home, prioritizing students from provinces severely affected by recent storms and floods.
Mr. Le Xuan Dung, deputy director of the center, said: "We are negotiating prices with bus companies and preparing to allocate free Tet holiday bus tickets to schools. The center is still calling for support from the community to implement the program of giving away free Tet holiday bus tickets as well as other activities to take care of students during Tet."
It is expected that at 6:00 AM on January 22, 2014 (the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month), 45 buses from the "Spring Journey" program will depart from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural Center (4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) to take 2,000 students back to their families for reunions.
