In contrast to the image at My Dinh, fans in Myanmar calmly lined up to wait for their turn to get tickets to the stadium. They completely turned their backs on the black market ticket sellers.

After the 4-1 victory over Cambodia in the opening match of the AFF Cup 2018, Myanmar fans were very excited and eager to watch their favorite team at home. However, the scene of them buying tickets to the stadium was completely opposite to the scene of Vietnamese fans at My Dinh a few days ago.

With the heat of the AFF Cup 2018, Vietnamese fans have stunned domestic and international media with images of jostling and lining up in the rain to buy tickets to watch the Malaysia-Vietnam match. Not only that, at times, black market ticket prices have been pushed up... 10 times due to the huge demand from fans.

However, this did not happen in Yangon as fans here calmly lined up because they were not afraid of... black market tickets. Currently, the weather in Myanmar is quite hot but the long line of home fans are still patiently waiting their turn.

According to Thanh Nien newspaper reporters, there was only one elderly security guard standing guard at the ticket selling location to maintain order. However, there was no jostling or pushing at this location in the past two days.

“We often go to Thuwunna Stadium to watch football. Myanmar is quite strong this year and is playing quite well, so everyone wants to see the upcoming match with Vietnam," said Mue Thu, a sailor who took the opportunity to buy tickets to watch the football match.

"I don't know much about Vietnam, but you are strong, the best result is a draw. It will give Myanmar a good chance to pass the group stage."

When asked about black market tickets, he was a bit surprised, then answered vaguely: “Each person can only buy 2 tickets. No more. Black market tickets? There are also ticket brokers here, but we don’t pay much attention because we can still buy them while queuing.”

When the reporter asked another young man in the middle of the line, he said he had been in line for an hour and was quite comfortable waiting for his turn despite the hot weather. “It’s okay to wait a little bit! Tickets in Yangon have been on sale since November 17. Each person with an ID card number can only buy 2 tickets, so there’s no need to rush.”

"Black market tickets? I'm not sure, but it's not a big deal because the government will immediately intervene and protect us. In Myanmar, tickets are not sold online yet, so we just have to queue and it will be our turn."
