Venezuela accuses the US of preparing to launch war
According to THX, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez warned on March 11 that the US is creating a legal basis to launch a war against Venezuela and other countries around the world.
In a television interview, Ms. Rodriguez said that the administration of US President Barack Obama is trying to lobby the US Congress to support an attack on any country that "does not serve US interests."

According to Ms. Rodriguez, the White House's recent request for Congress to grant it greater authority to hunt down the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) group in any region of the world would "leave the door open" to carry out a military campaign in Venezuela or any other country.
Ms. Rodriguez also called on Venezuelans to prepare for the possibility of the US imposing a trade, financial and economic embargo on the South American country, similar to the ban Washington has imposed on Cuba for more than 50 years.
On the same day, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called on the whole country to unite and be ready to deal with any aggressive action by the US.
He also asked the Venezuelan National Assembly to grant him the right to rule by decree for six months so that his government can respond quickly to any threats./.
