According to a VNA correspondent in South America, on July 5, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) will conduct a military exercise on July 24 to practice combat plans against the opposition's coup plots.
Speaking at the parade to celebrate the 208th anniversary of Venezuela's independence, President Maduro emphasized that this exercise is part of the activities to commemorate national hero Simon Bolivar and the anniversary of the founding of the Bolivarian Navy, while also enhancing the operational capabilities of the defense system.
According to the Venezuelan leader, the country is going through a difficult period facing frequent attacks by hostile forces and therefore unity is the key factor to achieve peace, stability and consolidate economic prosperity.
Mr. Maduro also warned that no force should look down on Venezuela because its people and army are always united to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
President Maduro also called on the opposition to abandon its sabotage plots and plans to destabilize the country's future, while affirming the government's will and commitment to reaching political agreements with the opposition through dialogue towards peace.
The head of the Venezuelan Government called on the soldiers of the FANB to continue to promote their moral, spiritual and ideal pioneering spirit to protect democratic institutions, the Venezuelan people, territorial integrity and national pride.
