Borges is accused of involvement in the failed assassination attempt on President Nicolas Maduro using an explosive-laden drone on August 4.
Borges, who was in Bogota on August 7 to attend the inauguration of Colombia's new president Ivan Duque, called the accusation "a farce."
The Venezuelan court decided to strip Borges and another opposition lawmaker, Juan Requenses, of their judicial immunity. Venezuelan intelligence arrested Requesens, according toAFP.
