If nothing changes, in 10 days, VFF will officially sign a contract with head coach Phan Thanh Hung, Mr. Hung will start his duties from September 3.

The above information was confirmed to the press by Secretary General Ngo Le Bang. Mr. Bang said:“We have agreed with Coach Phan Thanh Hung on a number of points and if nothing changes, within the next 10 days, the contract with Coach Phan Thanh Hung will be signed with the terms as the public and press have known. Coach Phan Thanh Hung will start his new job with the national team from September 3.Coach Phan Thanh Hung's contract will start from September 2012 until December 31, 2013 with salary and financial benefits not disclosed.

Thus, VFF has approved Coach Phan Thanh Hung to hold a concurrent position and Mr. Hung will work alternately at the National Team and Hanoi T&T Club until the end of the contract. Specifically, Coach Phan Thanh Hung will work full-time for the National Team until the end of the 2012 AFF Cup, then return to Hanoi T&T Club and join the team in the 2013 V-League.

After the end of V-League 2013, Coach Phan Thanh Hung will continue working for the National Team, with the U23 team preparing for the 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

Initially, according to the statement of VFF Vice President in charge of finance Le Hung Dung, if working full-time for a long term, Coach Phan Thanh Hung will receive a salary of up to 200 million VND/month.

However, because Coach Phan Thanh Hung only agreed to a short-term position, he certainly could not receive such a record salary for a domestic coach. Although he did not disclose the specific salary that Coach Phan Thanh Hung received because this was a principle of the contract, General Secretary Ngo Le Le Bang confidently affirmed that the salary was enough to satisfy Coach Phan Thanh Hung.

In addition, VFF also promised to create the best conditions for Coach Phan Thanh Hung to work and stay with the National Team for a long time. Currently, the training and competition plan of the Vietnam National Team in the coming time has been built by Coach Phan Thanh Hung, the VFF National Teams Department, with consultation with the National Coaching Council as well as prestigious football experts.

Starting from September 3rd at La Thanh Hotel (Hanoi), the Vietnam National Team will officially begin preparing for the AFF Cup 2012 with 7 to 8 international friendly matches (including the VFF Cup scheduled to be held). Along with that are a few matches with domestic clubs whose opponents have not yet been determined.

At this year's AFF Cup, the target that VFF gave to coach Phan Thanh Hung and the Vietnamese team is to reach the final match.
