VFF suspends 'Thanh Hoa Messi', fines Hanoi FC

The VFF Disciplinary Board has officially met to make decisions regarding the prominent incidents of the 5th round. Most notably, midfielder Le Quoc Phuong and Hanoi FC have received a penalty.

First, the VFF Disciplinary Board reviewed the file on midfielder Le Quoc Phuong - the player nicknamed "Thanh Hoa Messi". In the match against Ho Chi Minh City, Quoc Phuong had inappropriate behavior with player Au Van Hoan.

Accordingly, based on Clause 1, Article 43 of the VFF's Disciplinary Regulations, the Disciplinary Board decided to suspend player Le Quoc Phuong (No. 19) of FLC Thanh Hoa Football Club from playing the next 02 matches (equivalent to 01 direct red card) for a serious foul on player Au Van Hoan (No. 89) of Ho Chi Minh City Football Club in the 5th match on February 11, 2017 at Thanh Hoa Stadium, Thanh Hoa Province.

Also in the meeting this morning (February 15), the VFF Disciplinary Board issued Decision No. 67/QD-LĐBĐVN on disciplining the organizers of the match of Hanoi Football Club.

Accordingly, the organizers of the Hanoi Football Club match were fined 20 million VND for allowing spectators to light flares in the stadium during the match between Hanoi Football Club and SHB Da Nang in the 5th round, on February 11, 2017 at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi, violating Clause 2, Article 68 of the VFF's Disciplinary Regulations.
