For 1 million VND, the guy was sentenced to 15 years in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - While working for a company, when someone contacted him to hire him to buy drugs and promised to pay him 1 million VND, Tam quickly took a bus back to his hometown. When Tam was about to deliver drugs to a customer at a coffee shop, he was caught red-handed by the police.
On December 28, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Nguyen Van Tam (born 1993), residing in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district, for the crime of "Illegal trading of narcotics".drug”.
Around mid-March 2022, while Nguyen Van Tam was working in Bac Ninh, he received a phone call from a man (unknown background and address) asking to buy drugs to sell to customers at a karaoke bar. With the promise of paying 1 million VND, Tam agreed and took a bus home.

On the afternoon of March 22, Tam borrowed his mother’s motorbike and went to a coffee shop in Quynh Ngoc commune, Quynh Luu district to meet a customer who asked to buy drugs. After receiving 8 million VND from the customer, Tam called a woman to ask to buy drugs.
Following this person’s instructions, Tam took a taxi to Tran Van Truong’s house (residing in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau district) to make the transaction. There, Tam met a woman wearing a mask and received drugs disguised in a cigarette pack.
After that, Tam took the drugs back to the coffee shop to deliver to the customer and was arrested by the police. The evidence of the case was more than 35 grams of drugs.
Based on Tam's testimony, the police urgently searched Truong's residence, but this person did not admit to meeting and being involved in Tam's crime.
At the trial, defendant Tam choked up and admitted to his crime. Tam said, “Because I was drunk that day, I agreed when someone asked me to go buy drugs.” The defendant presented his family’s poor circumstances and his young age to ask the court to reduce his sentence.
Considering that in this case the defendant had mitigating circumstances such as honest confession, repentance, family contributions to the revolution... the panel sentenced Nguyen Van Tam to 15 years in prison.
