The folk songs of Nghe An province evoke warmth and affection in the capital city.

(Baonghean.vn) - With the theme "Vi Giam folk singing: Convergence and Dissemination," the art program "The Affectionate Feelings of Vi Giam" on the evening of November 12th truly warmed the hearts of the people of Nghe An living in Hanoi amidst the cold weather in the capital.

The Ví Giặm folk music program is truly a highlight of traditional Vietnamese folk art in the heart of Hanoi.

These familiar melodies, originating from the fields, riverside docks, and village courtyards, sung in the lullabies of mothers and grandmothers, held a far greater significance for many of those present as they resonated in the National Convention Center.

The performance of "Deep Father-Son Love" with traditional lyrics by People's Artist Hong Luu, together with children from the Green Sprouts Club.

It's like a sound that evokes nostalgia for home and roots. Perhaps that's why, whenever the singing begins, whenever familiar words and dialects characteristic of Nghe An, such as "nác" (water), are mentioned, the applause is incessant.

Through typical melodies such as "Returning to the Land of Ví Giặm," "Deep Father-Son Love," "Rice Milling in Ví Giặm," "Ô Lục Soạn," and performances like "Fishing Boy - Weaver Girl," "Ví Giặm Casting a Spell,"... listeners rediscover the spaces of Ví Giặm, imbued with the essence of the countryside and gentle affection.

A special feature of the concert was the participation of farmer-artists from the folk singing clubs of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

In particular, listeners can feel the continuity of Ví Giặm when they see young singers on stage, their hands still unsteady on the microphones, yet their voices full of power.

The audience was treated to simple, heartfelt songs about the daily lives, work, and production activities of the artisans through traditional folk songs such as: "Rice Milling Song," "Farewell Song," "Rice Planting Song," "Weaving Song," "Mountain Climbing Song," and call-and-response love songs…

The highlight of the evening was the appearance of People's Artist Thu Hien. The artist of "Angry but Loving" said that although she is not a native of Nghe An, the folk melodies of this region with its hot winds and white sands have become a passion in her blood.
