For people with disabilities in the community

(Baonghean.vn) -Today, April 17th, the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphaned Children in Vinh City held a ceremony to commemorate the 24th anniversary of Vietnam's Disabled Persons Day (April 18th, 1998 - April 18th, 2012).

Currently, Vinh City has nearly 7,000 people with disabilities (including war invalids). In the last 10 years alone, the City's Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphaned Children has mobilized resources and donated 680 wheelchairs to underprivileged individuals. The city has 7 clubs for people with disabilities, all actively participating in the "People with Disabilities Striving for Excellence" movement, aiming to avoid becoming a burden to their families and society. This year also marks the 7th time the city has organized an awards ceremony honoring people with disabilities who strive for excellence, with 535 individuals receiving recognition.

Also on this occasion, the Vinh City Youth Union organized the handover of a project donated to people with disabilities and planted trees in the grounds of the Vinh City Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphaned Children.
