On December 19, social media exploded with the victory of the Argentine team in the 2022 World Cup final.

Messi winning the 2022 World Cup was as shocking as Leonardo DiCaprio winning the Best Actor Oscar in 2016 for his role in the movie “The Revenant”.

These are two victories that the world has been waiting for. Coincidentally, both Messi and DiCaprio tasted defeat four times before reaching the pinnacle of glory.

Messi and Argentina went through 4 World Cup seasons (from 2006 to 2018) before being able to touch the championship trophy in the 5th season. He has achieved countless remarkable achievements, and is still ranked among world football legends whether he wins the 2022 World Cup or not.

But winning the World Cup is the sweet fruit that Messi deserves to receive to have the most complete ending after 2 decades of dedication to the king sport.

Similar to Messi, Leonardo was nominated for an Oscar four times in the acting category in 1994, 2005, 2007, 2014 (not counting the nomination for filmmaker) but all failed.

Many people think that Leonardo DiCaprio is a good actor, he has won many prestigious awards such as Golden Globe, BAFTA... and does not need to win an Oscar to affirm his talent. But in Hollywood, the Oscar is one of the milestones proving the peak of the career of true A-list stars.

And after a long time of waiting, Leonardo DiCaprio got his hands on the 2016 Oscar statuette, making the audience burst into tears.

There may still be debates about who was the best player in the World Cup final between Messi and Mbappe, just like some viewers think Eddie Redmayne of “The Danish Girl” performed better than DiCaprio in “The Revenant”.

But, in the end, the whole world congratulates Lionel Messi and Leonardo DiCaprio for their lifetime achievements and deserves to be recognized.
