'The Judge' will not compete but People's Artist Hoang Dung will sit on the judge's panel.

Responding to VietNamNet about the reason why these two films did not compete for the 2017 television festival, the media representative of VFC - VTV's television film production center said the reason was that these two films had scripts based on foreign elements. This made fans of 'The Judge' and 'Living with Mother-in-law' regretful because the two films were not only rated well for their quality but also had very high viewership ratings.

'Living with mother-in-law' is the hottest TV series on social networks in 2017.

Instead, VFC sent the film 'Chieu Ngang Qua Pho Cu' with the participation of actors Kim Oanh, Anh Tu, Cong Ly... to compete in the category of TV Series. 'Chieu Ngang Qua Pho Cu' recently won the award for Best Foreign TV Series at the 11th Tokyo International Television Festival. Competing in this category besides Chieu Ngang Qua Pho Cu are: Lan Ham Mot Ten Nguoi, Mat Danh Rocker, Me Ho Giao Con Dau and Song Trong Ban Dem.

'Chieu Ngang Qua Pho Cu' is the only film produced by VFC competing in the Feature Film category.

With no film competing for awards, 'The Judge' - People's Artist Hoang Dung will sit on the jury at this year's National Television Festival. In addition, there are actress My Uyen (Jury for the Stage category), People's Artist Nhu Quynh, cameraman Ly Thai Dung, director Do Thanh Hai (Jury for the Television Drama category), singer Tan Minh (Jury for the Music and Dance program category)...

The 37th National Television Festival will take place from December 13-16, 2017 in Sam Son, Thanh Hoa. Up to now, the Organizing Committee has received registrations to participate in the National Television Festival from 139 units, of which 101 units have submitted entries. Nearly 500 entries have been sent to compete. In particular, the reportage category continues to attract the most entries (nearly 150 entries). This is also the category with the fiercest competition among participating units with many diverse topics, reflecting the current situation of many localities in the past year. The topic of the environment is a prominent topic that many units are interested in and submitted to compete in the 37th National Television Festival.
