While on duty, the US Secret Service will call President Donald Trump by the code name "Boss" instead of using his given name.

Traditionally, the President of the United States and his immediate family are assigned code names when under Secret Service protection. This code name was originally used for security purposes, but today it is also used for brevity, simplicity, and tradition. Code names are chosen by the White House Communications Agency.
In keeping with this tradition, President Trump was given the code name “Mogul” because he was a billionaire real estate developer. During the September 2015 election campaign, Trump said he wanted the code name “Humble,” but was rejected.
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania was given the code name "Muse" because she used to be a supermodel.
In addition to their personal code names, US presidents also have a common code name, POTUS (President of the United States), and similarly, the First Lady of the United States is FLOTUS.

Traditionally, members of the President's family are also given code names that share the same initial. Ivanka Trump, President Trump's eldest daughter and adviser, is given the code name "Marvel."
The code names of the President's two sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, are "Mountaineer" and "Marksman" respectively. The code names of sons Barron Trump (10 years old) and Tiffany Trump (23 years old) have not been announced.
The President and his family members are protected by Secret Service agents. They enjoy this privilege even after their term of office ends.
