The search for flight MH370 is still ongoing.

On October 6th, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) announced that "the vessel GO Phoenix has arrived in the search area in the southern Indian Ocean and begun its search for the missing MH370 aircraft." The ASTB also stated that the Commission is being very cautious in analyzing the data to determine the location of the missing aircraft.

The search also received assistance from experts who had previously worked on the Air France AF447 Atlantic air crash between Rio and Paris in June 2009.
However, the search is currently facing numerous difficulties because the expanded search area is far from the mainland and has been largely unexplored. At the same time, those participating in the search will have to endure constant cold, strong winds from the Antarctic, and even large waves that can reach up to 12 meters in height.
Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8th while flying over the sea between Malaysia and Vietnam, carrying 239 passengers and crew. To date, the cause of its disappearance remains unexplained. Australia has spent between A$60,000,000 and A$90,000,000 (approximately €40,000,000 to €60,000,000) on the search for the aircraft, making it the most expensive search in aviation history.
