Vietnamese expatriates in Cambodia offer suggestions for amending the Constitution.
On the morning of June 7th, in Phnom Penh, representatives of the Vietnamese-Cambodian community from all 24 provinces and cities of Cambodia participated in contributing their opinions, expressing their thoughts, feelings, and wisdom to the draft amendment of the 1992 Constitution, contributing to the cause of protecting, building, and developing the Fatherland.

The Chairman of the General Association of Vietnamese Cambodians, Mr. Chau Van Chi, emphasized that contributing opinions to the Draft Amendment to the 1992 Constitution is a vivid testament to the fact that the Vietnamese expatriate community in Cambodia is always an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.
In the past, Vietnamese expatriates in Cambodia contributed significantly to the struggle for national liberation and reunification. Today, Vietnamese expatriates in Cambodia continue to contribute to the protection, construction, and development of their country.
Representatives of the Cambodian-Vietnamese Provincial Associations unanimously agreed on the necessity of amending the Constitution to align with current realities and meet the development needs of the country and the nation in the new situation.
Representatives of the Vietnamese expatriate community in Cambodia gathered to contribute their opinions on several issues of public concern, such as Article 4 on the leading role of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Article 70 on the role and functions of the armed forces; land ownership rights stipulated in Articles 58 and 59; and the issue of changing the country's name…
Comments and suggestions regarding the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution will be compiled by the General Association of Vietnamese Cambodians and forwarded to the relevant authorities in Vietnam.
