Specifically, the Vietnamese sports delegation unexpectedly lost the third place overall to the Singaporean sports delegation.

According to the new rankings updated by the organizing committee, the Singapore sports delegation has just received 1 more medal from the diving duo Ashlee Tan and Fong Kay Yian.

The reason for this change comes from the fact that host Malaysia's athlete Wendy Ng Yan Yee was stripped of her gold medal for testing positive for doping.

According to The Star, the Malaysian Amateur Swimming Federation said that they have received notice from the SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) about the test results of Wendy Ng Yan Yee's B sample in New Delhi, India.

According to the test results, the sample of the female athlete who won 2 gold medals at the 29th SEA Games tested positive for the banned substance sibutramine found in weight loss pills.

This means that Wendy Ng Yan Yee will be stripped of the two individual and women's pair gold medals in the 3m springboard diving event that she just won at the biggest sports festival in Southeast Asia.

Nur Dhabitah Sabri, Wendy Ng Yan Yee's compatriot, will be awarded the gold medal in the individual event.

Meanwhile, Singapore's duo Ashlee Tan and Fong Kay Yian, who finished second, will be promoted to the gold medal.

With this gold medal, the Singapore delegation has a total of 58 gold medals like Vietnam, but ranks higher thanks to having more silver medals (57 compared to 50)./.
