The image of a type of surveillance radar that just appeared in a report of the Defense TV Channel has an appearance similar to the Brazilian Saber M60 prototype.

General Ngo Xuan Lich - Politburo member - Minister of National Defense, together with Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang - Chief of the General Staff and Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong - Deputy Minister of National Defense, recently visited and worked at the Military Telecommunications Group - Viettel.

At Viettel High-Tech Center, the delegation heard about the current research and manufacturing of equipment considered as the third pillar in the group's development strategy.

Right at the beginning of the released video, a rather strange type of surveillance radar was filmed close-up.

Notably, this radar has an external appearance very similar to the Brazilian Saber M60 prototype.

The Saber Radar is a project of the Brazilian Army, with the goal of developing an air defense radar using 100% domestic technology.

This is a product of the CTEx Military Technology Center, manufactured by BRADAR - a state-owned company under the Embraer Security and Defense Group, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Science and Technology of this South American country.

The above equipment can track both air and ground targets, with an operating range of up to 75 km and an altitude of 5,000 m. This system is considered unique as it can be easily integrated into an anti-aircraft artillery - missile complex or a certain weapon platform.

In addition to military use, the Saber M60 radar can also be used in civilian operations. This 3D phased array radar can simultaneously track 40 targets, distinguish between friend and foe, and clearly identify whether the target is a fixed-wing aircraft or a helicopter...

It detects air targets, provides parameters for interception weapons systems to take appropriate countermeasures, and performs two main functions: airspace surveillance and real-time data transmission on threats to combat systems.

The light weight of only 200 kg and compact size make the Saber M60 highly mobile, able to be deployed to work even in dense forest conditions. If Viettel can actually manufacture a domestic radar with functions equivalent to the Saber M60, this will be a new achievement of the country's defense industry./.
