Vietnam congratulates the successful Korea-North Korea summit
The representative of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the efforts of South Korea and North Korea in ensuring peace in the region.

"Vietnam congratulates and appreciates the efforts of South Korea and North Korea in successfully organizing the inter-Korean summit, making an important contribution to peace and stability in the region and the world, including promoting denuclearization of the Korean peninsula," she said.Le Thi Thu Hang, nThe spokesman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.
Ms. Hang spoke up afterSouth Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un held a historic summit today at Panmunjom in the Korean Demilitarized Zone. This is the first time in 11 years that the leaders of the two Koreas have met, and the first time the head of the North Korean government has set foot in South Korea in 65 years.
