Vietnam has its second female mathematics professor.
Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan said: The State Council of Professor Titles has met and decided to add 52 professors and 472 associate professors.
It is noteworthy that Vietnam has officially had its second female professor of Mathematics after Professor Hoang Xuan Sinh.
According to the Council's assessment, this year's quality is better than last year, with better international articles and foreign language proficiency, and younger age groups.
Minister Pham Vu Luan added: Associate Professor Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan - Vice Principal of the University of Science - Thai Nguyen University was awarded the title of Professor by the State Council of Professors after careful consideration and evaluation. The professors and associate professors awarded in 2015 were mainly at higher education institutions and research institutes; the number of visiting lecturers outside has decreased significantly.

Vice Principal of the University of Science Le Thi Thanh Nhan was born on March 23, 1970. Thus, she was awarded the title of Professor when she was only 45 years old.
Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan was born in Thai Nguyen. She graduated with honors from Viet Bac Pedagogical University and was retained as a lecturer when she was only 20 years old. She became a Master and a Doctor before she turned 30. At the age of 35, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor and Doctor of Mathematics. She has more than 20 research works published in international journals such as Vietnam Journal of Math and Communication in Algebra - a specialized journal of the American Mathematical Society. She was invited to do research by the French Mathematical Institute, the Institute of Theoretical Physics of Italy and Switzerland.
In 2011, she received the 26th Kovalevskaya Prize. At that time, she published 16 works in prestigious international mathematics journals ranked by ISI, including 13 works in SCI journals and 3 works in SCIE journals.
In particular, she has 5 works published in the Journal of Algebra - a prestigious international journal in the field of Algebra, including works that have been cited by many mathematicians around the world. She has also taught at many prestigious universities around the world.
