From June 24th to July 2nd, 2014, in three cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Yaroslavl (Russian Federation) – the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and other relevant units, organized the "Vietnamese Culture Days in the Russian Federation" program in 2014. The aim was to introduce and promote the beauty of Vietnamese culture to Russian tourists and international friends, while also fostering cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

The opening ceremony of "Vietnamese Culture Days in the Russian Federation" took place at 7:00 PM on June 25, 2014, at the Trade Union House (Moscow), with the participation of the Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh, the Russian Minister of Culture, and high-ranking officials from both countries. At the opening ceremony, the Vietnamese delegation presented unique traditional music and dance performances, demonstrated the distinctive techniques of Vovinam martial arts, and showcased traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

Within the framework of the event, many rich and diverse cultural and tourism activities were organized, most notably the exhibition of traditional Vietnamese lacquer paintings at the Moscow National Museum of Oriental Art, showcasing the beauty of Vietnam's nature and people, and "Vietnamese Film Days in Russia," introducing outstanding Vietnamese films to the Russian public. In addition, delegates participating in this cultural exchange program between Russia and Vietnam had the opportunity to exchange views in a roundtable conference on bilateral cooperation in the field of literature, the organization of translation and promotion of Russian literature in Vietnam and Vietnamese literature in Russia, as well as measures to strengthen cultural relations between the two countries.

Specifically, on June 26th, at the Universe Hotel (Moscow), the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism will organize a roadshow to introduce and promote Vietnam's tourism potential to Russian tourism businesses and media. In 2013, Vietnam welcomed and served 298,126 Russian tourists (an increase of 171.1% compared to 2012). The roadshow is an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen tourism promotion and marketing, contributing to attracting more Russian tourists to Vietnam, striving to achieve the target of welcoming approximately 400,000 Russian tourists in 2014.

Over the years, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation has been continuously strengthened. The two countries regularly organize cultural exchange activities as well as cooperation programs for training officials and experts in the fields of culture, arts, and tourism. Among these, "Vietnamese Culture Days in Russia" and "Russian Culture Days in Vietnam" are considered major cultural events, contributing to consolidating the good relationship between the people of the two countries and enhancing cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
