The achievements of the Vietnamese delegation at the 13th IJSO will be a stepping stone for the journey to glory in other international competitions held in Vietnam and other countries around the world. In 2017, the 14th IJSO will take place in the Netherlands.
The competition does not rank the entire delegation, but in terms of the number of gold medals won, Taiwan (China) is in first place, followed by India and Russia, with Vietnam in 6th place.
During the competition, participating countries had the opportunity to exchange many valuable experiences in education in general, especially in teaching and scientific research for high school students in particular.
New this year, the organizers set aside a conference for science teachers from high schools in Indonesia to interact with scientists and teachers from other countries to share, learn experiences and find cooperation opportunities.
IJSO is an exam for 15-year-old students, co-organized by the world's leading scientists. Students participating in the exam must go through three parts including multiple-choice, theory and practical exams. Each exam includes questions from three main areas: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
IJSO is held annually with the desire to create a playground and an environment for countries to share educational experiences to develop the quality of national education in particular and create momentum for global educational cooperation in general.
IJSO is an intellectual arena that creates many opportunities for students to experience scientific research activities and exchange with international friends. This is also a challenging exam for Vietnamese students because of its comprehensive interdisciplinary nature and the breadth of knowledge covered by the exam.
