Even provincial levels such as Quang Ninh and Hanoi have now been able to conduct Covid-19 testing.
For cases with typical signs and suspected disease, samples are tested at 2 facilities to compare and confirm accuracy.
Regarding the case of a 12th grade female student residing in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien-Hue province who died after having symptoms of cough, fever and difficulty breathing lasting for about a week, Hue Central Hospital used Real time RT-PCR testing technique (provided by Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City) to test the patient's sample and the result was negative.
At Hue Central Hospital, the equipment system has been invested in modern, synchronous, and has sufficient testing capacity. The hospital has proactively invited experts from the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City to train, coach, and transfer testing techniques in accordance with WHO standards and procedures.
However, to ensure accurate information, the Ministry of Health assigned the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang to test the patient's sample for comparison and the result was also negative for Covid-19.
