In the opening match on the evening of February 11, the Vietnamese futsal players were rated higher. However, in the fourth minute, Taiwan unexpectedly opened the score thanks to Lin Chih Hung's shot into the top corner of goalkeeper Van Huy's goal.

Taiwan's advantage only lasted for a few seconds, when their goalkeeper fouled a Vietnamese player in the penalty area. From the six-meter penalty spot, captain Bao Quan successfully converted, equalizing the score 1-1 for Vietnam.

In the sixth minute, Phung Trong Luan had a skillful dribble before finishing accurately to help Vietnam take a 2-1 lead. This was also the score of the first half.

In the second half, the match became more exciting when the Taiwanese players scored an equalizer at 2-2 in the 26th minute. However, the Vietnamese players then scored two goals in a row to create a 4-2 gap. After that, Taiwan reduced the gap to 3-4, but in the 37th minute, Ngoc Son put Vietnam ahead 5-3. In the final minute of the match, Taiwan scored an equalizer at 5-4.

In the same group match, Thailand had a similar victory against Tajikistan - Vietnam's next opponent. A victory will help Bao Quan and his teammates get a ticket to the quarterfinals.
