Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Van Cawenbergher, President of the Chaleroi Fair, highly appreciated the tourism development potential in Vietnam, with its many beautiful landscapes suitable for various types of tourism and certainly an attractive destination for Belgian tourists.
The opening ceremony of the Vietnamese booth took place on the evening of February 21st, with the participation of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium, Pham Sanh Chau, and leaders of the city of Chaleroi.
Soon after, the Vietnamese booth became the center of attention at the fair thanks to its unique, distinctly Vietnamese decor featuring conical hats, peach blossoms, bamboo, and flowers arranged in bamboo tubes.
Mr. Van Cawenbergher stated that Vietnam participated in this fair in 2010 and achieved great success. Furthermore, Vietnam boasts numerous tourist attractions and delicious cuisine that are sure to please European visitors. Therefore, the fair organizers decided to make Vietnam the focal point of this year's fair to showcase to Belgian visitors and the Francophone community.
During the fair, many cultural activities were organized at the Vietnamese booth, such as enjoying lotus tea, ao dai fashion shows, and demonstrations of making spring rolls. In addition, the exhibition of Vietnamese handicrafts was also a highlight.
