Vietnam publishes first diplomatic Blue Book

This is the first time the Blue Book on Vietnamese Diplomacy has been published to introduce Vietnam's foreign policy.

On the morning of September 22 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony to announce the “2015 Vietnamese Diplomatic Blue Book”. Attending the ceremony were representatives of ministries, departments, branches and representatives of foreign diplomatic agencies in Vietnam, as well as domestic and international reporters. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung chaired and delivered a speech at the announcement ceremony.

This is the first time the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has organized the publication of the Blue Book on Vietnamese Diplomacy to introduce Vietnam's foreign policy and outstanding achievements in Vietnam's foreign affairs in 2015.

The book consists of 6 chapters, providing an overview of the world and regional situation, the foreign policy of the Party and State of Vietnam; outstanding bilateral diplomatic activities in 2015 and in the past 5 years; multilateral diplomatic activities, diplomacy serving the development and protection of the Fatherland; foreign affairs of the Party and the National Assembly on people's diplomacy; major features in the foreign policy of the 12th Party Congress...

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung said that this is a very meaningful event and the first time it has been organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Many countries in the world annually publish similar publications called Diplomatic Blue Books to introduce their country's foreign policy and outstanding foreign activities.

“I believe that the information conveyed in the 2015 Vietnamese Diplomatic Blue Book will help you better understand Vietnam's foreign policy and diplomatic activities, including many activities in which the highest leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam participate, for the common cause of the nation, for peace, stability and development in the region as well as in the world,” said Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung.

According to Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung, the publication of the 2015 Diplomatic Blue Book also aims to implement the Party's policy right after the 12th Congress, which is to disseminate and propagate the Congress's guidelines. The book not only reviews Vietnam's foreign affairs in 2015 but also looks back at the past 5 years and highlights the new essential contents of the foreign policy of the 12th Party Congress.

The content of the book is compiled in an easy-to-understand way for readers but can also be used for research, teaching and learning. Hopefully the document will be useful for all those interested in Vietnam's foreign affairs./.
