Vietnam speaks out about the complicated situation in the waters of some ASEAN countries.
Vietnam hopes that relevant parties will be responsible for complying with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
On April 21, responding to press questions about recent information related to the complicated situation in the waters of some ASEAN countries, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said,As a country in the East Sea and an ASEAN member, Vietnam is interested in and closely monitors the situation.

"Vietnam sincerely hopes that the legitimate and legal rights and interests of countries in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea are respected; relevant parties must be responsible for complying with international law, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, demonstrating their commitment to developing friendly relations between countries and peace, stability and cooperation in the East Sea, the region and the world," the Spokesperson stated./.
