Vietnam loses 8 trillion VND due to personal computer virus.

On average, each computer user in Vietnam suffered losses exceeding 1,350,000 VND.

According to Bkav Vietnam, a cybersecurity company, computer viruses have caused personal computer users in Vietnam losses of up to 8 trillion VND, equivalent to 400 million USD. This figure is calculated based on the income of computer users and the time their work is disrupted due to problems caused by computer viruses.



At least 6 million computers in Vietnam have been affected by computer viruses.

According to research by Vietnam's cybersecurity company Bkav, over the past 12 months, personal computer users in Vietnam have suffered significant losses related to computer viruses. On average, each computer user in Vietnam has lost more than 1,350,000 VND, affecting at least 6 million computers currently in use nationwide.

According to this study, Bkav Company also noted that the risk of malware infection from USB drives is trending upwards again. Users admitted that their USB drives had been infected with viruses at least once in the past 12 months, a 5% increase compared to last year. USB drives continue to be a means of virus dissemination.

According to Mr. Vu Ngoc Son, Director of Research at Bkav Vietnam, a cybersecurity company, many computer users in Vietnam still do not pay attention to protecting their personal computers: "Currently, the number of computer users in Vietnam who equip themselves with fully updated, licensed antivirus software is still relatively small compared to the number of computers regularly used in Vietnam."

Therefore, users need to raise their awareness even further. Besides being aware of the dangers of computer viruses, they need to translate this into action, which means equipping themselves with antivirus software to protect themselves and the community. If a user equips themselves with antivirus software to protect their computer, the likelihood of virus spread in the community will also be reduced.
